The Yoruba Community Council in Niger state capital, Minna at the weekend, held an inter-denominational prayers for the quick recovery from illness of President Muhammadu Buhari and for the peace of the country.
The Niger State President General of the ethnic organization, Alhaji Rasheed Olawole Sanusi, in an interview with journalists after the joint faithful prayers said that the prayer became necessary due to the continuous illness of the President who has shown a clear indication to rid the country of corruption and lost glory.
Sanusi said Buhari had demonstrated readiness to get the nation out of its mess, hence he needed to be supported with prayers.
He charged that the Yoruba race should remain one anywhere they find themselves especially in Northern Nigeria and be peaceful just as they are known for peaceful coexistence belonging to one indivisible entity.
The prayer, which was held by both Christians and Muslims at the same venue along Kuta road with recitation of various chapters of the Holy Quran and Bible, was held to ensure peace and prosperity of Niger state and the nation at large.
