Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Amupitan, on Sunday, 21 December 2025, expressed sadness over the death of Mr. Sunday Olatuyi who died in a automobile accident on his way home.
Olatuyi, until his death, was a dedicated cameraman with ADBN Television and a member of INEC Press Corps.
In a statement of condolence in Abuja by his Chief Press Secretary Adedayo Aketola, the INEC Chairman condoled with his family, ADBN Television and the entire Press Corps members and prayed for the strength to bears the irreplaceable loss.
The statement reads: “It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that we received the news of the tragic passing of Mr. Sunday Olatuyi, a dedicated cameraman with ADBN Television and a valued member of the INEC Press Corps.
“Mr. Olatuyi lost his life in a fatal automobile accident while on his way home, a journey that ended far too soon for a man who was not just a cameraman, but a committed professional who played a vital role in covering the activities of the Commission.
“On behalf of the Honourable Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Joash Amupitan (SAN), we extend our deepest condolences to the Olatuyi family, ADBN Television, and the entire Press Corps. We share in your grief and pray for the strength to bear this irreplaceable loss.
“As we mourn Mr. Olatuyi, we pray that Almighty God grants all members of the Press Corps divine protection and preserves your lives as you continue to serve the nation.”
