Administrator, Jema’a Local Government in Kaduna State, Yusuf Mu’azu Usman, has lauded the Governor Nasir Ahmad EL-Rufai for introducing the Electronic Voting Machine (E.V.M) for the forthcoming local government election billed for May this year.
A statement from the information office of the local government quoted the administrator as saying that it was a heart-warming development, which will reduce rigging, delay in collation of results, among others, thus enhancing transparency and a hitch-free election.
The administrator made the commendation as he went round to see the electronic voting Machine demonstration exercises going on within the local government on Monday.
Usman also commended the people of Jema’a Local Government for coming out en masse to avail themselves the use of the voting machine in preparation for the forthcoming local government election.
Residents expressed joy in the test run of the voting machine to ascertain its workability, effectiveness and efficiency, before the voting proper.
They said it moved the state closer to advance democracies in other parts of the world and promised to come out to vote and maintain peace during the election.
