The Kaduna state Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has presented relief materials to victims of recent communal crisis in Ninte Village in Jema’a Local Government Area.
Presenting the items on behalf of the Kaduna state Government, chairman interim Management committee Jema’a Local Government Dr. Bege Katuka, lamented the recurrence of such clashes, describing this trend as detrimental to the overall wellbeing of the people.
Dr. Katuka urged the affected parties to tolerate and accommodate one another to promote harmonious co-existence.
The chairman cautioned the people against taking the law into their hands and advised them to report to the appropriate authorities in case of any provocative action against any individual or groups to avert a repeat of the ugly incidence.
Responding, representative of the Chief of Godo Godo, Rev. Kaura Yaro, appreciated the Kaduna State Government for the gesture, describing the interventions as prompt.
He assured government that the traditional council would do everything possible to ensure that the items reached the target beneficiaries equitably.
Reverend Yaro said the council was leaving no stone unturned to entrench peace among the diverse communities in the area.
Items presented included, rice, garri, beans, sugar, palm oil, vegetable oil, mattresses and blankets as well as plastics cups and buckets.
