The Kaduna State House Assembly Committee on Information has lamented the state of facilities at the Rock side FM substation, Nok House Kafanchan, which is managed by the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC).
Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Mohammed Bello Haruna, made the remarks during a visit to substation on an over sight duty on Tuesday.
Haruna said virtually everything about the FM Station was down and require immediate attention to enable it function effectively.
He however said the Kaduna State Government was on top of the situation, as it has set aside the sum of N1.7 billion for the overhaul of its media outfits.
Haruna called on people of the state to support the Governor Mal. Nasir el-Rufai-led administration, to realize set objectives.
Representative of Sanga local government area in the House Assembly, Hon. Haliru Gambo Dangana, who is a member of committee, said his area was not receiving signals of the state radio and television stations and thanked government for plans to improve the services of KSMC to cover the entire state.
Dangana called on the Southern Kaduna people to coexist peacefully to enable execute planned projects and programs for progress of all.
Others in the visit included Hon. Sagir Zubairu ,Abubakar Hassan and Bitrus Joseph.
Responding, the station’s Manager, Mr. Gideon Bitrus, in appreciation of the committee’s visit expressed the hope that the substation would be given face lift.
