Against the backdrop of insecurity in the country, the Kpop Gwong in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Mr. Paul Zakkah Wyom, has tasked people of his chiefdom to co-exist peacefully with all manners of persons.
The Kpop Gwong gave the charge in a message to a meeting of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN); Gwong Chiefdom, held at Fori, last Saturday.
Represented by the district Head of Kama, Mr. Gabriel Gamalia, the Kpop Gwong applauded the initiative of praying for peace, security and development of the chiefdom, Kaduna State and the country, saying he will support any cause that will enhance peace and stability of the country.
The royal father cautioned farmers against cultivating cattle routes and taking laws into their hands, when crops are destroyed by cattle but told affected farmers to report to relevant authorities and allow the law to take its course.
He also cautioned herdsmen to maintain cordial relationship that exist and make sure crops were not destroyed, arms not taken, while grazing and be ready to own up and settle amicably with farmers, in the event of crops destruction.
The Kpop Gwong warned those selling illicit drugs and substances in the chiefdom to desist from the act or face the wrath of the law, explaining that the consumption of such substances has contributed to criminality and educational backwardness.
The Royal father called for sustained prayers for the wellbeing of the area.
In a remark, the CAN chairman in Jema’a Local Government, Rev. David Aruwa, also commended the initiative of organizing prayers for the nation, emphasizing that Christians have a divine mandate to pray for the wellbeing of the people.
The CAN chairman of Gwong chiefdom, Rev. Sadauna Tanet, said they found it expedient to meet and pray for the nation, discuss on security, relationship between farmers and herdsmen, sale of illicit drugs and relationship between denominations, among others.
