From Juluis B. Kezi, Kaduna
The Kaduna State Government has vowed to mete out corresponding punishment on perpetrators of communal clashes in the state to deter others nursing the same ambition.
The Deputy Governor, Arc. Barnabas Bala Bantex who stated this in an interview with newsmen in Kafanchan, said lack of dispensing appropriate punishment on those behind the communal violence was the major reason behind their recurrence.
He assured the people of the state that government would do everything possible within the armpits of the law to ensure protection of lives and property for legitimate activities to thrive.
Bala Bantex said government was considering the options of disarmament to minimize tendencies of such violence.
He urged people of the state not to hide under the guise of protecting themselves, relatives or friends to perpetrate evil that will in turn cause disaffection among law-abiding citizens.
However, it was gathered that a Pastor, Luka Ubangari, of the Redeem Church in Angwar Anjo was killed by unknown gun men while returning to the village on Friday. His remains have been deposited at the morgue of Sir Patrick Yakowa General Hospital Kafanchan.
