Members of Staff of Kagarko Local Government Council in Kaduna State have been warned against indolence in the discharge of their duties.

Interim Management Council Chairman, Alhaji Shehu Musa Tafa, gave the warning during a recent meeting with staff at the Council Chamber in Kagarko.
The council chairman also frowned at the attitude of truancy by staff and called on them to have a change of behaviour or be dealt with accordingly.
He said the All Progressive Congress (APC) administration would never condone a situation where staff operate against Civil Service rules, adding that the Council in a bid to sanitise the system would not hesitate to sack any worker found wanting.
Tafa disclosed that a time book has been introduced to control Staff attitude to work, assuring that well behaved staff would be rewarded, to boost their morale.
The Acting Director of Administration and General Services, Saidu Suleiman, assured the council staff of maximum support and cooperation for the development of the local government.
Responding, the Vice Chairman, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE),

Tanko Mohammed Dogara, commended the Interim Council for making its position known over workers’ behaviour and promised to take measures to stem indolence and truancy.
Dogara, however, listed workers’ problem to include non-payment of leave grant for over four years, improper attention to staff welfare and absence of working tools and materials, amongst others.
He appealed to the Council to address the problems for staff motivation to increase their productivity.
