His Highness, the Kpop Ham, Dr. Danladi Gyet Maude, has turbaned Mr. Girom Yahaya Ali as the new district head of Fogyei Kwoi, with a charge to him to be committed to security, peace and development of the district.
Addressing the celebrant and Ham community at the weekend at his palace in Kwoi, Jaba Local Government Area, the Kpop Ham charged the district Head “to be God fearing, compassionate, just, peace- loving and be committed to community Development, as government is not in position to provide all basic needs of citizens, even at this time of global economic recession”.
The Royal Father called on people of Fogyei District to consider it a duty to give the district head the support and cooperation that would enable him succeed in his task; stressing that they will be commended or blamed for his success or failure.
Congratulating the new District head, the Interim Management Council (IMC) Chairman Jaba Local Government, Mr Ben Kure prayed God to grant him long life, Good health, wisdom, courage and guidance to lead his people well.
The IMC chairman assured that his administration was working diligently to bring improvement to the local Government and solicited the support and cooperation of all people of the area to facilitate the achievement of set goals.
He apologized to the Kpop Ham for smearing the image of Ham traditional institution over the existence of ghost workers, which he said was an “unguarded statement, which will be retracted through appropriate channel”.
Speaking during the coronation ceremony, chairperson of the occasion, Mrs Hajara Dangiwa Pyeng appreciated the Kpop Ham and his traditional council for implementing people oriented policies, which led to the appointment of the new district head.
She counselled the Fogyei district head to appreciate God and cultivate godly virtues that will enable him succeed in his responsibilities. Mrs Pyeng urged him to retain and improve on divine virtues he was known with, humility, truth, justice, compassion and patriotism, stressing the need for him to plead the cause of the poor and needy, uphold and promote the Ham tradition and culture that are not against the faith, natural justice, equity and good conscience.
Born in 1952 at Kwoi, Mr Girom Yahaya Ali, on completion of his primary and secondary education between 1963 and 1978, obtained a National Certificate of Education and Bachelor Degree in Education from the University of Jos between 1979 and 2006.
He served as a primary school teacher working at various places and became an education officer and head of department Social Mobilization for Primary Schools In Jaba Local Government, before his appointment.
