The Authorities of the Kaduna State of the Kaduna State college of Education Gidan Waya have dispelled rumour making the rounds, especially on social media that five of its students were killed in an ambush along Kagoro-Gidan Waya Road recently.
A statement Signed by the Acting Registrar of the College, Mr. Samuel Tukurah and made available to the media said the report was not only false but unfounded.
The statement also indicated that inquiries from security operatives in the area revealed that no incident like that took place.
Similarly, the statement also regrets that a reputable media outfit as the Vanguard could not cross check facts with the institution, but preferred to peddle such rumour, at a time all student at the Gidan Waya Campus were on break, Stressing that the institution does not run a mass communication course as contained in the media report.
It urged the public to disregard the report as it is an attempt to compound the security challenge being experienced in Southern Kaduna and the State in general.
