The Kwara State government and its health community insurance scheme partners, Hygenia Community Health Insurance and Pharm Access, are organising a one-day conference on the State Health Insurance Research and Advocacy.
According to a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary, State Ministry of Health, Alhaji A.R. Ayinla, the conference will highlight the success story of the Community Health
Insurance Scheme in Kwara State and showcase it as a model for other states desirous of attaining Universal Health Scheme through state support health insurance scheme.

The statement indicated that participants expected at the conference include representatives of the World Bank, Department for International Development (DFID), National Health Insurance Scheme and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Other participants expected at the conference include the representatives of the Dutch Health Insurance fund, Permanent Secretaries, State Ministries of Health and other stakeholders.
The Kwara State Community Health Insurance Scheme, an initiative of the State government, is a collaboration with Pharm Access foundation and Hygeia Community Health
Insurance Scheme.
The scheme with over 100,000 enrolees has won international recognition and accolades including the one in Paris, France last year.
The one-day conference is expected to be declared open by the state Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed on July 21, 2015 at Kwara Hotels Ilorin.
