As the Islamic world begins the Ramadan fasting today, Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Ali Ahmad, has enjoined adherents of the religion to use the period to pray for peace and harmony in the country.
Ahmad, in a statement by the Director of Publicity, Ali Ahmad Campaign Committee, Shuaib Abdulkadir in Ilorin, prayed that Allah would provide every Muslims the wherewithal to go through the period.
Also, the Speaker urged Muslims to avail themselves of boundless opportunities in the holy month to seek forgiveness and divine intervention for Nigeria.
Describing Ramadan as a month of blessing to the entire world, he advised Muslims to stay away from all sinful acts that could jeopardise their bountiful rewards during the month as promised by Allah.
According to him, “as the nation is passing through a transition period, it is incumbent on the citizens to continue praying fervently for the country. Our Muslim brothers and sisters nationwide should make use of the holy month to offer their support to the leadership for Allah to always guide them aright as they discharge their duties.”
Ahmad, who congratulated Kwara Muslims and others in Nigeria for arriving in the month of Ramadan, encouraged them to be steadfast and continue to support the state government in its bid to make the state better for all.
