Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, has assured that his administration will soon conduct the Local government elections across the 17 councils of the State.
He debunked the claims by the oppositions Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that he is afraid or not capable of conducting the local government elections, saying it was the security report that informed the postponement of the earlier scheduled local government elections in the state.
Lalong stated this during the thanksgiving service of his third year anniversary as governor held at Government House Chapel.
“There is no any intention not for me to conduct Local government elections in Plateau State, but I will not conduct elections to the detriment of human lives”.
He pledged that whoever wins during the local government elections will be sworn in as council chairmen.
Lalong further disclosed that his administration was doing everything possible to bring lasting solution to the farmers/Fulani clashes in the state as a member of the presidential committee on food security.
