The premier leaders of Tapila Pilaku International, the Lamido of Adamawa, Dr. Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha, has enjoined traders who owned shops consumed by an inferno at the Yola Traditional Market to take heart and move on in life.
He made the call during his visit to the scene where he symphatised with thousands of traders who lost their goods as a result of the incident, which according to him was the act of God.
Dr. Barkindo Mustapha also called on people to be God fearing in all their deeds and urged traders to take the incident as an examination by Allah.
In an interview, Head of Service Yola South Local Government Comrade Muhammad Chibado said, an assessment committee has been inaugurated to find the remote causes of the overnight inferno, pointing out that the local government cannot quantified the extent of damage but that the fire affected over 85 per cent of the market.
Some traders who spoke to The Dream Daily, Malam Amadu and his brother who took over the business after the death of their father said, they lost 7 stores of different goods while Madam Hajaratu Bulus explained that she bought her shop three week back for N500,000 and lost goods worth over N1 million.
