LOVE FROM A DISTANCE

Distance in space and mile
Like twinkling star in night sky
Not of mind and affection,
Passion and desire, longing, longing for
When feelings surrender,
Emotions embank on breath and expression
Blinding sight and reasoning
When one feels like encaged…

So is love from a distance
As distinct as gold from iron,
Loving from a distance
When feelings in strong current flow
Like raging storm at sea
As fantasies disappear for real love
When emotions well up
When sleep is hard but dreams are sweet
Upon pillow, upon sofa, upon blanket
As acts and deeds become irrational
But romantically right

Like long sweet night dream
When soul seem sedated in tantalizing embrace
In hush of night …yes, when silence breathes and
Terminates at dawn with loud sigh
It is love from afar in mileage and vista
Like romantic walk across Pacific
Sometimes it hurts, sometimes it fails
As it haunts, hunts and hurls
Dashing affection, burning desire
Breaking hearts so fragile
Hearts that spoke and believed, waiting in vain
Hearts that loved but now bleed
Hearts so tender, so pure
But all is mirage…
