  1. SAVE FIIRO:Corruption and Succession tussle in FIIRO
    A Must Read story

So much atrocities have been happening in most Federal Government Establishments and Institutes even at a time like this under PMB. Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi, (FIIRO) is one of such Federal Government a parastatal going through hell due to bad leadership and corrupt individuals at the helms of affair.
Dr Gloria Elemo has been the Director General of FIIRO for eight years. Her 2 terms tenure expired on Friday the 10th of May, 2019. She was reported to be seen with heavily armed policemen on Thursday 9th of May, 2019 that her life was threatened by the Union of the Institute who were on a mission for a peaceful protest because it was alleged that Dr Mrs Gloria Elemo sold the Institute’s property such as cars, air conditioners and so on to herself, diverted monies meant for Institute’s project to herself, favoured her loyalists with undeserved double promotions. Due to the presence of the Policemen at the Institute’s premises, the Union’s peaceful protest could not hold.
Now to the big story, against the directive of the Governing body of the Institute that the Outgoing DG( Dr Gloria Elemo) to handover to the next qualified staff in person of Dr( Mrs) Agnes Asagbra, She( Elemo)has decided to handover to one Dr Chima Igwe who is currently being investigated by ICPC. Elemo did this for obvious reasons to cover her deeds. The same Dr Chima Igwe is currently taking a lecturing job in India and South Africa, which is against the Civil Service Rule. Also, the said Dr Chima Igwe who the outgoing DG (Elemo) has chosen to hand over to, presented himself to be PhD holder yet no certificate to show for this.
Now, the Minister of Science and Technology,(who supervises FIIRO), Dr Christopher Ogbonnaya Onu was said to have sent an email dated 11th May, 2019 that the unqualified person, Dr Chima Igwe to resume office as the acting Director General of FIIRO come Monday 13th May, 2019 for whatever reasons against Head of Service/ Civil service rule.
How on earth should a man of questionable and dubious character lead a reputable Institute like Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi? ICPC is yet to confirm him upright based on the different allegations. Yet, Dr Mrs Gloria Elemo in conjunction with the Honorable Minister of Science and Technology has found him worthy to head the Institute.
This is a wake up call to all Nigerians, Let’s say NO to corruption. NO to Nepotism.
    God bless FIIRO!
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
