A puzzling case has emerged in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT) following the death of a former Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Mr. David Parradang, who was found lifeless in his hotel room at Joy House Hotel, Area 3 Junction, on Tuesday, 4 March 2025.
The FCT Police Command, through its spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, has dismissed circulating rumors about the incident, providing a detailed account of events leading to the discovery.
According to the police statement, Mr. Parradang arrived at the hotel on Monday, 3 March, 2025, at approximately 12:00 PM, driving a black Mercedes Benz. He checked in, paying N22,000 for a one-night stay.
Shortly after settling in, he instructed a hotel room attendant to escort a female visitor to his room. The unidentified woman left the premises around 4:00 PM that day. Mr. Parradang, however, remained in his room and was not seen exiting afterward.
Concern grew when a military officer, described as a friend of the deceased, traced him to the hotel at around 4:00 AM on 4 March, prompted by worries over his wellbeing. Accompanied by the hotel receptionist, the officer entered Mr. Parradang’s room, only to find him slumped in a chair, unresponsive.
Police from Durumi Station were immediately alerted, arriving swiftly to secure the scene.
SP Adeh confirmed that officers photographed the area and gathered evidence to aid the investigation. Mr. Parradang’s body was subsequently moved to the National Hospital for further examination, including an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Hotel staff are cooperating fully with authorities as the probe continues.
The police have urged the public to refrain from speculation, assuring that a thorough investigation is under way to uncover the circumstances surrounding this mysterious death. Updates are expected as the case develops, with many questions lingering about what transpired in those final hours of Mr. Parradang’s life.
