NDLEA Arrests 20 Suspects For Drug Trafficking In Adamawa

The Adamawa State Command of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency ( NDLEA ) has arrested 20 suspects in connection with 61.465kg of hard drugs.
State Commander of the Agency, Musa Kibo, disclosed this to newsmen in Yola on Thursday, saying the suspects were arrested at Yola abattoir and Jambutu central motor park. He added that the arrests were made possible following the command’s efforts to rid the state free of drugs.
He pointed out that the operation was conducted to dislodge some major drug abuse joints in Yola, saying large quantity of Tramadol 250 mg was seized from the suspects.
His words: “The Command during its relentless raid dislodge drug joints which include Yola Abattoir, Market, Jambutu Motor Park, Madam Street and Falujah market.
“A total of 20 suspected were arrested and seizure of 61.456 Kg of assorted hard drugs such as Cannabis Sativa ,Tramadol 250 mg, Diazepam, Rophnol, Cough syrup with codeine and extol-5 .”
“The Command alone cannot successfully win the war against drug abuse and illicit trafficking, “Kibo added.
The Commander said the agency under his watch was making all it could to rescue and clear the state from the grip of drugs dealers “who are merchants of destruction and death.”
Kibo however, called on public, government, traditional and religious leaders in the state to join hands together to address the dangerous drug menace and consumption in the state.
