New Orimolusi: ‘No Victor, No Vanquished’, Declares Ekundayo

An Elder Statesman from Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State and medical Doctor, Tele Ekundayo, has congratulated the people of Ijebu Igbo over the emergence of Prince Lawrence Adedeji Jaiyeoba Tanimowo Adebajo as the new Orimolusi of their town following a 27-year interregnum, which the Supreme Court put to bed in a unanimous verdict last year

  Writing from his United States (US) base, Dr. Ekundayo, in a statement entitled, No Victor, No Vanquished In This ‘Öba-Olúwa-Ní-Ńdé-Ęni-L’adé’ Outcome Which Also Respects The Supreme Court’s Judgement Stance!”, urged all to accept the emergence of the new Orimolusi in good faith and the “no victor, no vanquished spirit”.

  Dr. Ekundayo’s statement reads in full:  

  “Congratulations to our incoming Kabiyesi, our eventual Orimolusi-elect, Prince Lawrence Adedeji Jaiyeoba Tanimowo Adebajo, as finally presented to us on Tuesday, January, 4th, 2022, following a period of over 27 years of paramountcy-devoid traditional-leadership lacuna, which was essentially due to the unnecessary delay foisted on Ijebu-Igbo by our snail-speed delayed court-processes in Nigeria!

 “Gratitude to all our warrant chiefs who had been patient to have worked diligently, on the plane of justice & fairness, in defence and preservation of their individual integrity, sustenance of their dignity and in accordance to the Supreme Court judgement of May 2021, on the assignment of selecting our Orimolusi-elect!

 “We should also be able to extend our appreciation to the entirety of our citizenry for being patient to witness the terminal date of the selection assignment’s conclusion on Tuesday, January the 4th, 2022!

 “We should all be aware that there is no association, which would not have members in the opposing variation of classes or categories, in form of cynicism or stoicism, skepticism or dogmatism & pessimism or optimism, but each of the characteristic varieties, has to be sensibly accommodated and responsibly tolerated by any visionary or progress-driven/minded/focused leader who treasures perfectly in turning any logically sensible criticism to an eventual solution ‘tablet’ or a problem-ameliorating ‘capsule’, since historically & experientially, we have to ever coexist peacefully in the diametrically opposed world!

 “However, in whatever situation we find ourselves, we should always be willing to recalibrate our individual personalities, so as to promptly and wisely apply the best of our personal character or characteristic assets, which are & should be ever typical of the most progressive citizenry in Ijebu-Igbo, to let peace and understanding always modulate the outcome of our collective interaction, hence the current aftermath of the eventual selection process, which was exemplified by the best in maturity and wisdom application!

 “On the occasion of any arisen issue of common concern to members of the same Ijebu-Igbo Family, which is recognized to be tabled for discussion or consideration, we need to continue in the regular utilization of only an utmost of maturity asset and application of tolerance of one another to maintain the desired harmony in our relationship

 “We should be readily willing to cooperate with one another to jointly work, towards the goal of expelling the possibility of disharmony, so as to give room or pave the way for our smoothly forging ahead with a progressive Ijebu-Igbo, under our newly selected Orimolusi-elect: Prince Lawrence Adedeji Jaiyeoba Tanimowo Adebajo!

 “As we express our gratitude to our warrant chiefs and all our elders/leaders and other members who demonstrated active participation, by rendering their free, generous & selfless views to broadly inform our warrant chiefs, our eventually selected Orimolusi-elect Prince Lawrence Adedeji Jaiyeoba Tanimowo Adebajo, our charming and cerebrally outstanding prince-choice must continue to be sensibly humble, progress-focused, disregarding any untoward distraction, in the best of wisdom & wit, to engage in the prompt integration of the best in our citizenry’s strength to evolve a formidable & cooperative unit force, which shall consistently generate & promote peace, unity and love within the kingdom for a progressive and successful Ijebu-Igbo, by the grace of God!

 “Our Orimolusi-elect, Prince Lawrence Adedeji Jaiyeoba Tanimowo ADEBAJO had started on the best of reconciliatory note by giving honour to whom honour is due, most especially to those involved in paving the ways for justice to prevail in the eventual selection process by their insistence to stick solely to the plane of justice and fairness, inherent in the Supreme Court ruling & judicial prescriptions of May 2021!

 “Our new Orimolusi-elect will not be characterized by the mistaken misstep gait-pattern of the foolish but the gracious gait-pattern with the impressive future strides of the ever-wise, who is primarily loyal to the community’s growth and development!
