The Acting Governor of Niger State, Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed Ketso, has called on the residents of the two communities in dispute, Mokwa and Katcha Local Government Areas living within Katcha town to eschew bitterness and live peacefully with one another.
Ketso, who is also the Chairman of the State Boundary Commission, made the call shortly after meeting with the representatives of the two communities in dispute over a parcel of land and water within Katcha town of Katcha Local Government Area of the State.
The Chairman of the State Boundary Commission said that the two warring communities have been directed to stay away from the area in dispute until when final amicable resolution on the issue is reached.
He said that security agencies in the stated have been alerted and directed to arrest any person or group of persons apprehended to foment trouble in the area.
The meeting, chaired by Ketso, was attended by two representatives each of the two sides of the area in dispute and some members of the Niger State Executive Council.
