The Niger State chapter of Inter Party Advisory Council of Nigeria IPAC, has inaugurated its new executive to pilot the affairs of the association for the next one year subject to renewal based on the merit of their performance.
Inaugurating the elected executive committee on Friday at Abdulsalami Youth Centre in Minna, with the theme: “The role of political parties in Nation building through the entrenchment of IPAC code of conduct.”
The elected chairman, Hon. Mamman Garba, in his acceptance speech assured of dialogue among all the political parties and major players as the utmost priority so as to have a common goal for the overall welfare of the people of the state.
Garba who was optimistic on putting in place a responsive leadership assured that the news Exco will not to betray the confidence reposed in them, hence applauded the peaceful conduct of the election devoid of rancour and acrimony.
He reiterated the commitment of his administration for unflinching support for all government developmental policies and programmes that will have direct impact on the lives of the citizens just as a monitoring and evaluation committee will be put in place to encourage standard.
National chairman of IPAC, Hon. Mohammed Lawal Nalado urged the state IPAC to give moral and financial support to the present administration in the state by ensuring all hands to be on deck to that effect.
He appealed to Nigerians to avoid any negative tendencies capable of painting the country in a bad image adding that even in terms of corruption countries like China and India were higher than Nigeria but Nigerians “blow that of our country out of proposition.”
Represented by the National Secretary, Chief Sam Eke, the IPAC leader appreciated the peaceful conduct of the election and peaceful transition, He called for this to be emulated by other states of the federation, noting that is IPAC was never an opposition political party or organization.
Niger State Deputy Governor, Ahmed Mohammed Ketso, who was represented at the event by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Affairs, Mr Solomon Eyanze, said that IPAC was seen as partners in progress and stability in politics.
He called for the review of electoral reform to enable political parties to conduct their primaries and Congresses in a more matured manner thereby reducing corruption in the politics at least by 50 per cent.
He further pledged to always support and assist in the peace and progress of politics in Niger state.
Those inaugurated included Secretary, Abdulazeez Salaudeen and other five members while each of the three senatorial zones of the state inaugurated its committees.
