Two People Democratic Party chieftain in charge of former President Goodluck Jonathan campaign in Niger State have been suspended for diverting campaign fund meant for 184 polling units in Shiroro Local Council.
The suspended party men are Alhaji Iro Kurebe and Ibrahim Isah, chairman and secretary of the PDP in that order in Shiroro Local Council .
Their suspension was carried out by the 14 PDP ward chairmen that make up the council who accused the two of duping the party over N3 million meant for campaign in the last general election.
The suspension of the chairman and secretary was contain in a two-page resolution dated May 28, 2015, a copy of which was made available to The Dream Daily, signed by the 14 ward chairmen.
The ward chairmen are Alhaji Garba Usman, Bangajiya Ward; Alhaji Saleh Ibrahim, She Ward; Alhaji Ismaila Bazakore, Gusoro Ward; Alhaji Musa Yako, Ubandoma Ward; Alhaji Mohammed Adamu, Kato Ward; Shakulo Magaji JP, Bassa/Kukoki Ward; Alhaji yusuf Galadima, Pina ward.
The rest are Ibrahim Sanda,Galgoko Ward; Alhaji Umar Salihu, Gurmana Ward; Sale Bello, Erena Ward; Alhaji Usman Tukura ECWA/Gwada Ward; Usman Makeri, Allawa Ward; Alhaji Musa Makama, Kwaki Ward; and Alhaji Adamu Bako of Manta Ward
According to the ward chairmen, “during presidential election conducted in March 2015 each polling unit was to get N10 000 and we have 184 units making N10,000 x 184 : N1.840 million.
“The two party official officials also collected N1.5million from the state deputy chairman of the party, Barr. Tanko Beji, the money was meant for campaign of PDP in the area. The chairman and secretary illegally deduct N391.000 from the monthly allowances given local government and ward executives without their consent.
“The then deputy governor candidate, Kantigi, supported the party with N1.2million, including motorcycles also from Hajiya Jumai Babangida Aliyu, but all this went into thin air.”
The ward chairmen said the party has begun reorganising and restructuring ahead the 2019 elections and would therefore not allow people with questionable character to hold executive position in the party.
All effort to speak with the state chairman of PDP, Hon. Musa Maale, before going to the press in order to confirm the development prove abortive as all his lines were switch off.
