  Arise News Channel, the Nigerian Media family and the country are grappling with profound grief following the tragic death of a beloved news anchor, reporter, and producer at Arise News, Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu, who passed away in the early hours of Monday, September 29, 2025.

 The 29-year-old was fatally injured during an armed robbery at her residence in the Katampe area of Abuja, an incident now under investigation by the Nigeria Police.

In a heartfelt press statement, Arise News management described Sommie, as she was affectionately known, as a vibrant voice who captivated audiences with her engaging presence and journalistic prowess.
