The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has call on all Nigerians to make the second stanza of the National Anthem their daily prayer point to unite the country and tackle religious crisis across the country
Adamawa state Director of the gency, Alhaji Ahmed Sudi Abba, who said this while fielding questions from newsmen in Yola, added that the NOA at the state level has already embarked on an advocacy campaign started with media executives on the need for the media to support the agency to achieve the set goals as directed by the Federal Government.
He explained that, the second stanza would also bring to an end the religious crisis bedivelling the country, especially among the followers of the two major religious of Islam and Christianity.
Abba disclosed that three states – Niger, Benue and Nasarawa – as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have started using the second stanza of the National Anthem as a prayer point.
He therefore called on the Adamawa state government to follow suit in order to maintain peaceful coexistence in the state.
The NOA state Director said the removal of subsidy on petrol and the increase in the of pump price of the commodity was inevitable, considering the economy situation of the nation which he said was “very critical”, adding that before achieving the set objectives of the change mantra of President Buhari’s administration “there is need for attitudinal change” among Nigerians, whom he also charged to support the government.
