Eleven people were confirmed dead while six others are suffering varying degrees of injuries from the renew attacks on Tuesday on Angwan Ayu, near Ninte Village, Godogodo Chiefdom in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The chairman, interim council of Jema’a Local Government, Dr. Bege Katukah, disclosed this in an interview with newsmen, shortly after a visit to affected communities.
Disturbed by the level of destruction with impunity mated to the communities of Angwan Ayu, Akwa’a and Gada Biyu in which houses, property and cultivated farms worth millions of naira were destroyed, Dr. Katukah appealed for urgent deployment of soldiers to arrest the situation.
Meanwhile, the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, on Thursday delivered relief materials; food stuff, mattresses, vegetable oil and house-hold utensils to displaced persons of the fresh attacks.
SEMA spokesperson, Samon Gaura, while presenting the items, said the materials were an emergency response to cushion the hardship faced by victims of the fresh attack.
Receiving the items at the palace of the chief of Godogodo, Dr. Bege Katukah commended SEMA for the timely intervention. He said a committee will be constituted to ascertain the exact number of displaced persons, stressing that currently, victims have fled to various places for refuge.
