Representative of the Fulani herdsmen who fled to Nunku, Nasarawa State in the wake Ninte Crisis in May this year in which their father, an Ardo lost his life, has denied responsibility of incessant reprisal attacks in the village and surrounding Villages.
The Representative of the family, Abubakar Hussani, denied the allegation while Speaking at the palace of the chief of Godogodo during a community Peace meditation Dialogue organized by Community Peace Partnership (CPP) Jema’a Local Government Chapter.
Hussani said since they fled to Nunku after the death of their father they have not gone elsewhere, saying they have taken solace in God over the death of their father and have forgiven who were behind his death.
Emphasizing that they were willing to return home to Ninte, however, he expressed concern over lack of shelter, food and insecurity, which would not guarantee their return now.
Noting that evil persons are using the crisis from the native farmers and Fulani herders as business, he appealed to Government to establish a military Unit to flush out those perpetrating the Crisis and occupation of the area.
Abubakar Hussani urged Ninte Communities to consider their past cordial relationship, the progress of the State and the Country, forgive each other and come together to negotiate on how peace will return.
The village head of Ninte, Mr. Hassan Jatau, youth Leader Adamu Habu, Akila G. Akpake of Gada Biu, Bisallah Barau-village Head Ungwan Anjo, Iliya Aboloko and Hassan Ibrahim Akwa’a said they accepted reconciliation but that the military should be brought in to support security agencies in flushing out herdsmen who are not from the area and have taken over their villages and ravaged their crops.
Government, they said, must provide relief that will be enough for the people.
Chairman, Interim Management Council Jema’a Local Government, Dr. Bege Katuka, expressed gratitude to God for the presence of the herdsmen that fled to Nunku, who were accompanied Ardo Nunku, their host, Ardo Barka, who said he was on the visit to console and assure them of a peaceful negotiation without arrest, which made the herders to attend. He promised that Government of Kaduna State was ready to enter dialogue to end the violence.
Katukah assured all costs of destruction done to human lives and property have been captured and sent to the state government.
He appealed to stakeholders from all warring parties to cultivate the fear of God and discuss with an opened mind on the way forward to end all violence for the progress of the area and the state.
The Chief of Godogodo expressed delight over the presence of the herders from Nunku who have been absent on the negotiation table for the five times he convened mediation dialogue. He appealed to stake holders that attended the meeting to assist him in appealing to all warring parties to sheathe their swords and embrace the path of peace by forgiving each other.
Security agencies lead to the mediation dialogue by the Police Area Commander Kafanchan Command, Mal. Ibrahim, explained how the police saved the communities from further attacks explaining that the police have no enough personnel and resources to people to police their farms. The communities must be willing to forgive and forget and end the hostilities and rumors peddling, Ibrahim said.
On the way forward, Rev. Yohanna Madaki, His highness the Kpop Gwong Mr. Paul Z. Wyom, the Etum Numana, Mr Ibrahim Gambo, the Tum Nikyob, Mal. Tanko Tete, Alh. Isa Bappa-Chief Imam Miyatti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, Rev. James Weh and Imam Sani Isa of the inter-faith Mediation Centre and Dr. Yakubu Sanke, Humanitarian Dialogue Representative urged the people of the area to end the crisis amiably for the good of all, pointing out that God will hold them accountable for the lives and property destroyed in any crisis, stressing that Christianity and Islam were founded of the pillars of love and peace and not by compulsion.
