The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps ( NYSC), Brigadier-General Yusha’u Ahmed has warned against posting corps members to unsecured places for their primary assignments.

2024 Batch B’ Stream II corps members orientation camp in Wamakko, Sokoto State further assured all corp members across the federation that their security is guaranteed.
While reassuring the corps members posted to Sokoto and Zamfara states undergoing their three-week orientation at the Sokoto NYSC permanent site in Wamakko local government, the DG said the scheme also prioritized their security and welfare above any consideration.
“Be rest assured your security is guaranteed, but you equally have to be security conscious at all times. And avoid acts that would put your lives in danger,” he said
In his advice to all corps members across the federation, Yusha’u said they should equally be security conscious and try to avoid unnecessary journeys during their service year to forestall any unforseen hazard associated with trips.
” And even if it become necessary for you to travel, always ensure that you take permission from the appropriate authority. And let such permissions be duly approved before going”, the DG cautioned.
Continuing, the DG admonished corps members to not only participate in all activities, but also pay special attention to the skills acquisition and entrepreneurship development (SAED) programme for self-reliance and economic prosperity of the nation.
He tasked corps members to be impactful in their host communities by building meaningful relationships and embarking on individual and group Community Development Projects.
The DG was accompanied on the visit by the Director North West area office 2, Isa Wana, Acting Director, Information and Public Relations, Madam Caroline Williams Embu and Deputy Director, Special Duties, Alhaji Nura Umar
Earlier in his welcome remarks, Sokoto State Coordinator of NYSC, Alhaji Usman Yakubu, described corps members undergoing orientation in Sokoto state as disciplined and committed.
Usman further appealed to corps members to heed all advice given to them by the Director General of the scheme.
