Following the three-months quit notice ultimatum issued by some northern youths to the Igbo community in the north, members of Mubi Emirate Council have sued for peace among all Nigerians, urging all hands to be on deck for the unity of the nation.
The Emir of Mubi, His Royal Highness Alhaji Abubakar Isa-Ahmadu, while receiving a delegation from Search for Common Ground in his palace commended the contributions of various non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in the state and nationwide to peace-building in the country.
The royal father added that involvement of the traditional institutions in security matter is a sure way out of the quagmire the nation is experiencing.
“We commended your organisation seal in build peace. In Mubi here we don’t discriminate against our Igbo and Yoruba brothers; we believe in peace and coexistence of this great nation”
A member of Mubi traditional council Sali Bello District Head of Gyela, who spoke on behalf of other reassured on the safety of the Igbo, Yoruba and other Nigerians in their domain.
” We thanked God for the life of our Royal Father; he always preach peace. He told us we should not discriminate against other Nigerians in our domain in the name of religion and tribe. I can tell you without mincing words that Mubi is safe to all Nigerians, including Igbo, Yoruba.”
