NULGE Charges Nasarawa Councils On Judicious Use Of Bailout Funds

Chairmen of local governments in Nasarawa State have been told to make judicious use of the bailout fund recently given to them by the state government.
President, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Nasarawa State Chapter, Comrade Abdullahi Abubakar, gave the advice in an interview with newsmen in Lafia.
Comrade Abubakar, who described the bailout fund released to states by the Federal Government as important and timely wants council chairmen in the state to ensure that every worker at the local government level gets their entitlements.
According to him, the over N4 Billion disbursed to the local governments as bailout is sufficient enough to settle all salary arrears been owned council workers in the state, stressing that NULGE will partner with the leadership of the councils to ensure that no worker is left out from receiving their entitlement.
Comrade Abdullahi, who dispelled rumour making the round that Nasarawa State Government is owing council workers four months’ salary, said government was owing them only two and half months’ salary.
According to him, the current leadership of NULGE in the state will continue to accord top priority to the welfare of its members.
He called on his members across the state to be patient, peaceful, respect the civil service rules and avoid acts that are capable of breaching the existing peace in the area.
