A grassroots politician and concern citizen of Adamawa state, Alhaji. Murtala Mohammed Isah Zumo, has blamed the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) of being stooges to the government of the day by failing to fight for the right of her members scattered across Adamawa’s 21 Local Government Area.
Zumo, who exonerated the governor of the state but shift all blames to the NULGE officials for being stooges and sycophants of the government.
His words: “The NULGE in Adamawa state are nothing but group of failures who don’t practice true unionism but allow themselves to be bought by the state Government.
“If it is not like that why should the union not struggle for the Rights of her members but allows the problem to lingers on for months without coming out to give concrete reasonings on the lingering issues. Bindow should never be blame for not paying the LGAs the it’s the NULGE official will force him to pay.”
He also said the NULGE officials were just there for to enrich themselves and for the interest of the union.
Reacting to the allegations, Public Relations of the union, Comrade Mohammed Baba Shelleng, said they were baseless and “lack the tastes of truth.”
Shelleng revealed that since the past four months the union has being struggling to resolve the lingering salaries crisis in the state and that government had given them assurances of settling all outstanding salaries soon.
“We and the government have been in talking terms with assurances of settling all our outstanding salaries, not that we are not fighting their cause, if the government wouldn’t want to hear us,” he said.
Shelleng pleaded with all the affected staff of the union to calm down as the final solution” will soon unravel itself to show the government their patience is having a limit time.”
Governor Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow had earlier made a public pronouncement to settle their salaries in few weeks to come.
