Old Students Association Eyagi Bida Holds Maiden Convention

Eyagi Old Students Association (EYOSA) Bida, Niger State is billed to hold its maiden National Convention on March 4, 2017 this in a bid to restore their Alma Mata , Government Technical College Eyagi to its past glory
The association spokesman, Malam Tanko Dada said that the convention slated for Saturday, March 4, 2017 to be held at the school premises which will also serve as an avenue for re-union amongst its members.
According to Dada “the convention will afford members the opportunity to see the state of dilapidation of infrastructures in the school over the years owing to neglect.
“They will see for themselves that most hostels do not have toilet facilities or running tap water a common feature in the past, thus causing untold hardship on student’s.
“They will also see the empty workshops are devoid of any working equipment or tools for the students to conduct practicals with, in line with the laid down curriculum”, he said.
However, Dada commended the state government efforts towards revamping the educational sector through phase complete rehabilitation of schools infrastructure, which commenced last year.
He stressed that “ I am happy that our Alma Mata is expected to get a complete rehabilitation of its infrastructure this year, after the state Assembly has passed the 2017 budget.
He said the convention would afford members the chance for a re- union with classmates and roommates as well as others, since graduating from the school.
Dada also said that the one day convention will also feature the election of new officials for the association, as the association strives to improve the lot of its Alma Mata.
He disclosed that special award will be conferred on selected persons and a lecture on “Eyagi Yesterday, Today and the Prospect of Tomorrow” to be delivered by a former student, Alhaji Hussaini Ndayako ( Sarduana Raba Nupe)
