Ondo Guber: APC Promises Free, Fair Primary

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) over the weekend promised its governorship aspirants in Ondo state a free and fair primary to elect its governorship candidate for the election proper.

Deputy National Organising Secretary,  APC, Nze Chidi Duru, stated this at the close of submission of expression of interest and nomination forms by the 16 Ondo State governorship aspirants at the APC National Secretariat, Abuja.

Nze said: “Today marks the formal closure of the first step of the exercise towards nominating and electing the person that would fly the flag of our party in the forthcoming gubernatorial exercise in Ondo state.

“And being the last day of closure of  submission of forms and after today, the next exercise would then be the screening exercise that would take place on the 11th and 12th of next week after that would then be the primary’s proper.

“And i am happy to inform you that given the way we have run this Secretariat, directorate, we would shortly advice all the aspirants that  latest on Monday of the basket into which each of the aspirants fell in, so they don’t need to come and wait endlessly.

“We would basket them into groups, we would have done it today but because of the different views of when the holidays would fall. But the confidence is that by Monday the government would have release the date for the Salah holiday.

“We don’t want release a list that we come back and reverse. But bear in mind that latest by Monday you will know the slot into which each aspirant falls”
