Onukaba: We have lost A Fine Journalist, Says Sani Bello

Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello on Tuesday said the death of Dr. Onukaba Adinoyi Ojo, one time Managing Director of Daily Times has cost Nigeria one of her finest contemporary journalists.
The governor in a condolence message to the government and people of Kogi State and media practitioners in the country signed by his Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity, Mr. Jide Orintunsin said the death of Onukaba has placed on Nigerian Journalists the onerous responsibility of keeping the high standard of professionalism he practised and stood for.
The statement reads, “I received the news of the demise of Dr. Onukaba Adinoyi Ojo with deep shock and sorrow. Nigeria has again lost one of her finest contemporary Journalists. His irreparable loss at this crucial moment will undoubtedly be missed not only by the Nigerian media but globally.
“He was a thorough and well breed Journalist who exhibited high sense of diligence even as a reporter in the aviation beat. His commitment and dexterity at work saw him to the pinnacle of his carrier when he was appointed the managing director of the Daily Times, the nation’s foremost tabloid.
“It is also instructive to note that this quintessential media practitioner brought innovation into media management of government activities at the highest level of government in the country when he was appointed spokesman of Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
“The task is now on the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Nigeria Guild of Editors and the entire media industry in the country to sustain the high standard of professionalism Onukaba practised and stood for.
“My heart goes to his children, the people and government of Kogi State over the death of this great patriot, teacher, author and God fearing Journalist. I pray that Allah (SWT) will forgive him and grant him Aljanna fridaus.
Onukaba died on Sunday, 4 days to his 57th birthday along Ilesa-Akure Express road. He has since been buried in accordance with Islamic injunction.
