Petrol Attendant In Court Over N2.1 Million Fraud

The Kwara State Police Command has drag a worker of a filling station in Ilorin, Abdulrahman Maruf, before Magistrate Mohammed Ibrahim for alleged
fraud of N2.1million perpetrated on duty.
The accused person, who is 38 years and of unknown address, was
accused of betrayed trust and theft.
The Prosecutor, Nasiru Yusuf, informed the court that the accused person committed the offence in October,2014 at Malway Filling Station located at Sango area, Ilorin.
He explained that the accused person sold 22,000 litres worth N2.1 million.
The Prosecutor said the complainant, Alhaji Abdulkareem Sanni, reported the accused person to the Police but the accused person refused to surrender the money to the owner of the filling station.
He urged the court to remand the accused in prison until the Police conclude their investigation because the offence he committed contradicted Section 289 and 312 of Criminal Law of Federal Republic of Nigeria.
But the accused person pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Magistrate Ibrahim granted the accused person bail in in the sum of N500,000 and two guarantors with same amount. He adjourned adjourn the case to July 23 for further hearing.
