Plateau Awards Contracts For Jos Roads

Jos North local government of Plateau state is to get a major facelift of following the signing of contracts for the construction of road networks within the metropolis.

The contracts was signed at the premises of the ministry for urban development where Arch. Sam Galadima signed on behalf of the Plateau state government while Engr. Jide Oladunni, Chinedu Kingsley and Peng Yian Yyan signed on behalf of their respective companies.

The roads to be constructed includes Agwan Rogo, Tudun Wada-Mado-Wild Life Park Road and Chunyap roads which have been awarded to Latokem Nigeria Limited , Jolex Construction Company Limited and China Zhonghao Company respectively.
According to Galadima, the projects will cost the state government over N4bn and are to be completed within 12 months.
Speaking with newsmen the representatives of the contracting firms both commended the state government for finding them worthy for the execution of the projects and promised that they will not compromise standard in anticipation of more jobs.
Galadima said the government’s desire in Plateau state was to turn around lives of residents for the
better, stressing that having cleared salary and pensions of deserving servants government is poised to commence project execution.
He said after signing the contracts for the construction of road projects in the metropolis
government will soon commenced construct of roads in all the seventeen local governments in the state.
Also speaking Member representing KANKE Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Jacob Kassam appreciated the efforts of government in ensuring strict implementation of the state budgets as appropriated.
He tasked the contractors to compliment government efforts by putting in their best to ensure that the works are executed according to specifications.
He appealed to communities to cooperation with the contractors and protect their equipment rather than vandalizing them for selfish reasons.
