Police Arraign Suspects Over Nyanya, Kuje Bombings

The Police on Thursday in Abuja arraigned five suspected terrorists in court over the October 2, 2015 bomb blasts in Kuje and Nyanya, which left 20 persons dead and 41 others injured,.
According to a statement from Force Headquarters, the five suspects were arrested at Karamajiji Village, behind National Military Cemetery along Airport Road, Abuja and dangerous bombing tools which include I-pad, laptop and phones believed to have been used as materials for making bombs were recovered from them.
The statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olabisi Kolawole said: “The Nigeria Police Force has carried out the arraignment in court of five suspects in the October 2, 2015 twin bombings in Kuje and Nyanya areas of Abuja.
“ IGP Solomon Arase ordered the arraignment of the suspects at the Federal High Court, Abuja for prosecution on October 22nd, after careful and discreet investigations into the recent bombings that took place in some parts of Abuja were carried out by the Nigeria Police Force.
“The IGP said the arrest of the suspects was made possible by the proactive nature of the newly formed Intelligence Response Team.
“The IGP warned Nigerians to avoid the temptation of picking I-pad, phones or laptops not owned or kept by them, as terrorists now use these items in manufacturing bombs, knowing its attractions and needs to the people.”
