The Niger state Liquor Licensing board has secured conviction for 11 prostitutes caught in different locations where they ply their trade within Minna metropolis.
The convicts who were rounded up by the head of operation of the board mallam Shehu Marafa Kagara in Mandela area and Nagari hotel of Minna were arraigned before chief magistrate Abdullahi Usman of chief magistrate court 8 .
The prosecution counsel to the board Mukthar Muhammad had told the court that the accused persons had contravened section 200 and 408 B of the penal code.
All the accused persons pleaded guilty to the charge and were given a summary trial by the chief magistrate Abdullahi usman.

Three of the accused persons Jennifer Innocent, Blessing Tioyo and Comfort David were given twelve months imprisonment or to pay an option of fine of N50,000.
While Blessing Marshal, Inferang Akpan, Godwin Jenifer are to serve six months imprisonment or pay N30,000 each as fine.
The Duo of Hadiza Muhammad,Evelyn Daniel got N20,000 fine and James Omande, Jessica Gbele who claimed to be students were fined N10,000 each or to serve a maximum of three and one month in prison respectively.
The chairman of the Liquor board Barrister Yahya Haladu Pera said no stone would be left unturned to wipe out prostitution in all the 25 local government areas of the state.
” The Niger state Liquor licensing board has zero tolerance for prostitution because it is part of the mandate given to us by the state government and we shall carryout the enforcement to the letter”.
