Recession: Buy Made In Nigeria Goods, Cleric Tells Nigerians

A cleric, Most Reverend Julius Abbe, has stressed the need for Nigerians to embrace local goods and materials to strengthen the nation economy.
Reverend Abbe in his message titled “Christ is our corner stone” delivered at the Ebenezer African Church, Osi in Ekiti Local Government area of Kwara State said patronage of made in Nigeria materials would get the Nation out of recession.
Abbe, who is the Archbishop of Ibadan Province of African Church, called on the people to embrace agriculture and stop depending on imported materials for the survival of the Nation.
He charged the Federal Government to tackle the various challenges affecting the people including hunger, bad economy plan, unemployment, insecurity, corruption and insurgency to make life bearable for the citizen.
Reverend Abbe, who was in Osi for the maiden provincial congress of the Church, urged Christians to make Jesus Christ the corner stone of their lives.
The cleric, who commended the Federal Government effort at curbing the menace of insurgency, ‎appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari and the Military to intensify effort in finding the remaining Chibok girls.
‎He called on the Federal Government to champion the need for herdsmen to build ranches where they could breed their cattle instead of the National Grazing Reserve Council Bill sent to the National Assembly.
Reverend Abbe noted that in line with global best practices, cattle breeders should acquire lands where they could peacefully tend their animals without encroaching on lands of farmers.
He also noted that Nigeria is passing through various challenges whose impacts are boldly written on the faces of citizens, hence the need for government to take steps that would cushion the unsuitable effect .
Reverend Abbe urged the National Assembly not to pass the grazing bill, observing that if passed, the law would have adverse effect on peasant farmers and other land owners.
Prayers were offered for Nigeria to regain its glory as well as sound health for President Muhammadu Buhari.
No fewer than 500 delegates, drawn from all the dioceses under the Ibadan Province attended the conference.
