A leading social club in Ijebu Igbo, The Reformers’ Club, has penned a congratulatory message to the Orimolusi-Elect, Prince Lawrence Jaiyeoba Adedeji Tanimowo Adebajo
In a letter dated 17 January 2022 and signed by the President of the club, Former (Chief) Soyinka Solu and Secretary, Former (Alh. Comr.) Tajudeen Mabini, the group wrote:
“The Reformers; Club, Ijebu-Igbo, hereby rejoices with and congratulates our newly elected Orimolusi of Ijebu Igbo, HRM, Lawrence Tanimowo Jayeoba Adebajo.
“Your selection has received a momentous and universal acceptance both locally and in diaspora. There is indeed a renewed and re-invigorated optimism that Ijebu Igbo shall reclaim her eminent position in Ogun State and Nigeria.
“We hereby commend all those who worked assiduously over the years and decades to ensure the attainment of the present successful ending. Although many have gone to the great beyond in the course of the struggle, we nevertheless wish to put on record the indelible contribution of various Community and Religious Leaders; the Chairman Ijebu North Local Government; the eleven visionary and gallant Warrant Chiefs; members of the Impact group, Orimolusi Forum and several others too numerous to mention.
“All of them took front line position for the past 27 years in their zeal and determination to ensure that the vacant stool of the Orimolusi is adequately and effectively filled.
“We rejoice with all sons and daughters of Ijebu Igbo on this momentous and historic occasion.”
The congratulatory letter continued:
“As we eagerly look forward to the coronation ceremony of our revered Monarch, we solicit for peaceful conduct among all and sundry so as to ensure a befitting investiture.
“The Reformers’ Club of Ijebu-Igbo being the first CAC-registered social club in the town has enjoyed the privilege of having His Royal Majesty, the Orimolusi of Ijebu-Igbo as our grand patron and we have no reason to believe that it will be otherwise.
“We cannot but pledge our total support and readiness to work with His Majesty with every resource and talent available to us towards the repositioning of Ijebu-Igbo to her deserving enviable and frontline position in Ijebu land, Ogun State and Nigeria in general.
“Kabiyesi, may your reign bring forth unprecedented peace and progress to Ijebu Igbo and its environ.
“ Once again we in Reformers’ Club say Congratulations, your Majesty; ki ade pe lori, ki bat ape lese, ki esin Oba o je oko pe.”
