Teams and states as well as players willing to participate in the maiden Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF)-organised national championship are expected to conclude their registration for the tournament.
In a prospectus released this week by NTTF, the deadline for registration is October 31 with 18 titles expected to be battled for at the six-day championship holding at National Stadium in Lagos.
According to the tournament director, John Peters, the championship is aimed at complementing the efforts of the federation at unearthing talents, as well as keeps the local players active for major competitions within and outside the country.
Peters, who is one of the two blue badge umpires in the country and was on duty at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil, said the tournament would hold on November 15 to 19 while the deadline would afford the organizing team to put everything in place for the kick-off of the tournament.
For the President of NTTF, Wahid Oshodi, the tournament would give the federation the opportunity to consider some players based on their talents as well as groom them to stardom.
