A new modern Market has been commissioned at Sakwo-Ungwar Rimi, Bajju Chiefdom in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The Market known temporary as “Modern Market Sakwo Ungwar Rimi-Bajju” situated along Kafanchan-Kwoi road was commissioned on Tuesday afternoon by Clergymen, amidst jubilant traditional rulers, community elders, traders, youths and women, who expressed joy for bringing development to the area.
Giving their royal blessings while giving good will messages at the commissioning ceremony, the district Heads of chenchuk, Afana and Ungwar Rimi Bajju Mr. Joshua Usman Abu, Mr Daniel Adwak and Mr. Kure Mallam respectively urged traders to promote love, peaceful co-existence, truth and tolerance, shun idolatry and cultism in the running of their business, so as to attract God’s favors, blessing and the achievement of set objective of bringing development to the area.
They enjoined youths in the area to shun laziness, cultivate the spirit of hard work, search for knowledge, especially in skills acquisition for their self-reliance and economic well-being.

The traditional rulers promised to establish a mechanic village, which will not only be used in the repairs of vehicles but serve as a training ground for youth in Mechanical Engineering.
The royal fathers blessed the plot owner for the release of the land for the establishment of the market describing the action as a “mark of patriotism” worthy of emulation”.
Commissioning the market, Rev. Joshua Bako, Rev. Nayari Daniel and Rev. Iliya Kure advised traders and those to patronize goods in the market, to put God first in all their affairs, stressing that “except God builds a house, the builder builds in vain and except God guards a house, the watchman guards in vain”.
They particularly warned against exploitation in the hike of prices of goods and explained it was a sin before God. The clergyman offered special prayers for the security, peace and development of the market and the locality.
Earlier, Pastor Benjamin Adamu and Mr. Audu Garba, (the representative of owner of the plots of land), said the establishment of the market was informed by the quest to improve the economic and social development of the area, coupled with outcry for shops and the recent insecurity in neighboring Kafanchan.
They said the establishment of the market will reduce the cost of transportation for petty-traders, which will in turn reduce the cost of goods at the market, where whole sale of commodities will be available.
Pastor Adamu and Mr. Garba appealed to traders to live as brothers and shy away from tendencies of discrimination.
Speaking on behalf of women traders Pastor/Mrs Amina Yashim glorified God and traditional rulers, for the establishment of the market, which has brought relieve to women, describing the development as “a dream comes true and a beginning of a journey to fulfilment of destiny of many of them.
She advised the observance of an hour of prayers to keep the market alive and its prosperity.
Both the Igbo and Yoruba community leaders (Chief Israel Peter and Elder Joel Adegboyega) respectively applauded the initiative of establishing the market and inclusion of their communities in the allocation of stalls, which they described a mark of brotherly love and acceptance of other tribes in the community, emphasizing it will go long way in promoting the unity of the country.
In a vote of thanks, the Chairman and secretary of the modern market, Mr. Dangana Chawai and Mr. Ishaya Liman said traders are expected to watch against exploitation in the sale of goods, strive to peaceful co-existence; assuring justice and security of their goods.
They urged traders to begin full operation of their business in the market by coming Monday.
