Acting chairman, Sanga Local Government, Garba Mohammed Burhari, has said the Council would support health programmes geared towards eradicating diseases in its communities.
Burhari stated this at a meeting with heads of the health department conveyed to review routine immunization exercises at the council Secretariat Gwantu, at the weekend.
He commended the staff of the department for their dedication to duty, especially in the fight against child-killer diseases.
The acting chairman said since health is wealth and vital to the growth and development of communities, it was incumbent on the department to intensity efforts to achieve desired goals, in line with the state government, free treatment programme for pregnant women and children under five years.
In a remark, the Director of Health Care Services of the area, Mr. Daniel Yakubu Sambe explained that the meeting was called to assess the performance of the department, especially in immunization, with a view to identifying areas that require improvement.
