Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, has approved the appointment Alhaji Jibrin Yusuf Habibu as the new Acting Chairman, Niger State Board of Internal Revenue.
A statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary, Mallam Jibrin Baba Ndace said the appointment was based on merit and track records of decades of experience.
Governor Sani Bello charged the acting chairman to bring his wealth of experience in ‘restructuring and re-organizing the entire organization in line with the recommendation of the Committee on Revenue Generation in the State as well as increase the revenue base of the State from its present status to at least One Billion (N1Billion) monthly as projected in 2017 budget.
A member of Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigerian (CITN), Alhaji Habibu graduated from Bayero University, Kano and has spent decades in the tax sub sector of Nigerian economy at both state and federal levels.
The new acting chairman has served in various capacity as Local VAT Officer, Head Monitoring, VAT& Withholding and TAX Controller.
Born in Kontagora, the 58-year-old tax administrator attended several courses and is skilled in effective team member and leadership, strategy and efficient decision.
Until his appointment, he was the Coordinator, Sokoto, Kebbi & Zamfara states, Federal Inland Revenue Service .
