Former Governor of Anambra State and hitherto a presidential aspirant on the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Peter Obi, has resigned his membership of his the PDP and withdraw from the party’s upcoming presidential primary.
Mr. Obi resigned via letter addressed dated 24 May, 2022 and addressed to the National Chairman of the PDP.
It is unclear why Mr. Obi resigned from the PDP.
However, sources told The Dream Daily that his resignation might not be unconnected with alleged plans by the PDP to foist a northern candidate on the party as its presidential candidate in the 2023 election.
