Commissioner for information Delta state, Hon. Patrick Uka has call on the journalists in the state to publicised the activities of the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa led administration.
The information commissioner, who made the call during an interactive session with reporters in Asaba, said that Governor Okowa was passionate about delivering prosperity to all Deltans.
According to Uka, over 60 roads have been approved for construction and rehabilitation so far by the Okowa Administration. He said these were at different stages of completion and that they would go long a way in ameliorate the sufferings of the People.
Uka pleaded: “You journalists are the middlemen between the government and people. They believed in you people, so, tell, educate and sensitise them on the policies and programmes of this administration. I’ m ready to partner with you journalists, so give the necessary and required information and publicise the activities of the governor Okowa’ s administration.”
The commissioner urged journalists to always confirm their stories before publishing that and assured that his door would be always open for confirmation of stories.
However, Uka condemned the rumour that he was planning to resign, saying: “Nobody is planning to resign. Rather we are happy with our job especially to assist Governor Okowa in driving his S.M.A.R.T Agenda. I love my job and Idon’t have any reason whatsoever to quit. We in the cabinet work in oneness, unity and as a family and happy doing our job.”
