Communities in Kaura, Jema’a and Kauru Local Government Areas of Kaduna State which suffered incessant attacks would soon get relief materials from the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kaduna State Chapter.
Presenting the materials on Thursday at St. Peters Clavers Cathedral Kafanchan to a committee set up to oversee the distribution, CAN Chairman Kaduna State Chapter, Bishop George Jonathan Dodo, said the gesture was intended to cushion the untold hardship of victims of violence in the affected communities.
Bishop Dodo, who is also the Catholic Bishop of Zaria Diocese, said the donation was an all-inclusive act of generosity from the Christian Community, Which should be extended to victims of all faiths, devoid of discrimination.
While praying for divine intervention and return to normalcy, the Bishop also prayed God to expose perpetrators of the attacks and their sponsors for justice to take course.
Responding on behalf of the Distribution Committee, its chairman, Rev-Fr. Aaron Tanko expressed gratitude for the gesture, describing it an act of love and divine social obligation; assuring judicious distribution of the items.
The donated materials included assorted grains, shoes, clothing, kitchen utensils and a cheque for N3.5 million for distribution to victims in Kaura, Jema’a and Kauru local governments.
