From Julius B. Kezi, Kaduna
Women of southern Kaduna have cried out to God for intervention in the lingering crisis dominating the area, which has claimed thousands of lives, destroyed property and hampered economic, social and academic activities.
The Women, mobilized by the National Women’s Wing of Southern Kaduna Peoples’ Union (SOKAPU), converged on Friday at C.M.I. Church Garaje –Kafanchan in a prayer Peace Summit, to seek God’s intervention.
Speaking on the theme “Peace Summit”, the Guest Speaker, Pastor (Mrs) Cinderella Emmanuel Bako of the GoodNews Power Base- Kafanchan told the wailing women that peace is one of the most precious commodities imbedded in holiness and righteousness which a person must cherish, strive to obtain and sustain. She said, however, that peace is obtainable only from God, through Christ Jesus.
Pastor Cinderella Emmanuel Bako said what is happening in the World, especially in Kaduna and southern Kaduna, was a spiritual invasion by evil forces, fighting spiritually and manifesting physically with the sole aim of denying people their salvation, blessings and eternal living with God.

According to the Guest Speaker, this spiritual war is beyond Southern Kaduna, the state and Nigeria, but an invasion from hell against Christianity, which must be fought and won spiritually through fervent prayers and fasting, until deliverance is obtained.
Quoting Job 5:19-27, Hebrews 4:16, Judges 5:5-end and Esther 3,4,6 and 7 of the Holy Bible, Pastor Cinderella Bako said the sins of idolatry, immorality, drunkenness and indiscipline were responsible for the calamities bedeviling the World, especially Nigeria, Kaduna state and indeed, Southern Kaduna.
She proffered that all people of faith must stand in the gap, as the summit was meant for, to seek God’s forgiveness, mercies, favours and restoration through prayers and fasting, until answers are received, with a resolve that these sins will not be perpetuated again”.
The guest speaker strongly advised parents to rise to their divine responsibility of bringing up their children in the fear of God.
Earlier in her speech and later in an interview, the Coordinator Women Wing, SOKAPU, Mrs Catherine John Amangs said the peace summit was to seek God’s divine solution for an enduring peace in Southern Kaduna and the state in general.
She lamented that the lingering insecurity challenge was destroying lives and property on daily basis and that the violence was growing the population of more widows, orphans, and stalling economic, social, farming and academic activities.
She said: “Since man has failed us, we have a big God who is by our side. If we hold unto Him, He will not fail us.” She therefore urged the people, especially of the area, to rededicate their lives to the Supreme Creator for intervention and permanent peace.

The SOKAPU Women Coordinator called on the government to do more in addressing and ending the crisis through roundtable dialogue with all relevant stakeholders, re-open institutions for academic activities as done in the North-Easter where violence was worst.
