The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Traditional Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has constituted a 22-man committee for the Ilorin annual end of ramadan traditional festival.
At the inauguration of the committee members which took place in his palace on Sunday, the emir advised them to explore all necessary avenue to ensure that all local governments are adequately involved to
further foster peace and unity in the state.
The members of the committee are; Alhaji Jimoh Garba, Abdullahi Garba, Saheed Alaya, Shehu Oniyangi, Sulyman Onigbari, Muhammad Sebutu, Toyin Makana, Sulaiman Kawu, Abdulrasaq Olomoda , Nurudeen Alao, Issa Atere and Ustaz Imam Ahmed.
Others are Abdullahi Ali, Abdulwaheed Ipapo, Ibrahim Sekoni, Engr. AbdulKadir Jamiu, Idris Danmaigoro, Abdulwahab Akanbi, Malam Malik Olokoto, Solihu Solihu and Sulyman Ajao.
The emir stressed that the emirate has no other culture than Islam which will be showcased at the event coming up on Wednesday, July 15 even as he appealed to the people, especially traditional title holders in the community to grace the programme with their presence as part of promoting unity and peaceful co-existence in the land.
Speaking on behalf of the committee, Alhaji Jimoh Garba assured the monarch that the committee will not betray the confidence reposed in it, stressing that the emergence of Dr.Bukola Saraki as the Senate President is an act of God.
Garba commended the emir for the numerous developments witnessed in the emirate during his reign as the 11th Emir of Ilorin and prayed for the continuous peaceful co-existence in the state.
