The election petition tribunal sitting in Jalingo, Taraba State has sacked a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member of the state House of Assembly, Josiah John Aji, who represents Wukari 2 in the Assembly, over irregularities in his election.
The tribunal Chairman, S M Anjor, annulled Aji’s election following a petition filed by the People’s Democratic Movement (PDM) candidate in the election, Tanimu Mohammed Danlele, who challenged the authenticity of Aji’s victory in the poll.
Anjor while cancelling election said base on the facts and proves provided by the PDM candidate in Wukari 2, card readers were not used in the election, PDP employed violent techniques and committed several forms of elections offences to win the election.
The tribunal ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct fresh election into the Wukari 2 seat within 90 days.
