Against the claims in some media reports, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday 28 February 2025, insisted that the recent 13th NEC meeting of the party which President Bola Ahmed Tinubu attended was his second attendance at the NEC Meeting as president, and not his first.
In a statement in Abuja by the APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka the party stated: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, attended his second meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) since his inauguration as President in 2023.
“It will be recalled that President Tinubu attended his first NEC meeting of the Party on August 3, 2023, at which Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, CON, and Senator Ajibola Basiru, Ph.D., were elected National Chairman and National Secretary, respectively.
“This statement is made to set the record straight and to correct inaccurate reports in some sections of the media that the just concluded 13th NEC Meeting of our Party was President Tinubu’s first, whereas, it was his second NEC meeting as President and Leader of our great Party.”
